Hi friends, welcome! I’m excited to be here with you today and share a new blog series on The Events Designers wedding planning blog. This new series will showcase my all-time Favourite Wedding Venues across the UK and as a Northamptonshire Wedding Planner it’s only fair I kick start this new wedding planning blog series in my home county. If you are looking to host your wedding celebration in the UK, the venue options are endless. From exclusive marquee gardens, stately homes, country houses and boutique hotels the sheer number of wedding venues can be overwhelming.

As you probably know, finding your dream wedding venue is hard work. In fact, it’s possibly the hardest element of the wedding planning journey! I promise it does get easier from here. Finding a wedding venue that represents you as a couple, somewhere you can add your own personality and a venue that you both fall in love with is key. This blog series, Favourite Wedding Venues, will showcase my, yes personal favourite wedding venues in certain counties across the UK.

      NORTHAMPTONSHIRE WEDDING VENUES

Northamptonshire is known as the heart of England and borders lots of other beautiful countryside countries including Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Oxfordshire, and Warwickshire. Northamptonshire is home to Northampton, Market Harborough, Towcester, Oundle and many other quintessentially towns and villages. Northamptonshire is situated in the beautiful countryside with a number of delicious award-winning restaurants and is bursting with history. From the Althorp estate, a stately home to the Spencer family and Princess Diana, to the Naseby Battlefield, there are lots of interesting attractions. Interestingly Northamptonshire has more historic stately houses than any other country.

So, let’s get started… Here’s a list of my Favourite Wedding Venues in Northamptonshire.

      HOLDENBY HOUSE

Holdenby House is a Grade II listed historic county house located in Holdenby, Northamptonshire. A 16th-century grand manor house with over 20-acres of gardens. The gardens are simply stunning and have been listed as one of the 1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die.

The house Elizabethan house and gardens offer the most perfect backdrop to your wedding photos. Couples can marry inside the house or use the exclusive grounds to host a marquee or tent wedding. Holdenby House really does offer that exclusive wow-factor, the house will capture your guest’s hearts with the grand and graceful arched entrance. The library is one of my favourite rooms with books dating back to the 16th century, one for the bookworms.

Holdenby House offers both Civil and Church Blessings. The Dining Room located in the heart of Holdenby House is licensed for wedding ceremonies, or you can marry in the beautiful 14th-century church at the bottom of the garden by the Parish priest.

      ALTHORP HOUSE & ESTATE

Set in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, Althorp House is one of England’s most premier historic houses. Home to the Spencer family and dating back to the 1500s, this stunning Northamptonshire wedding venue really is fit for a princess. Couples can host their Civil Ceremonies in five magnificent state-rooms. The Deer Park and House Lawns provide idyllic settings for marquee and tent weddings. Enjoy exclusive use of the house with bedrooms accommodating more than 40 members of your wedding party.

Althorp House is located just 6 miles from Northamptonshire Wedding Planner Katie Stocks home in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. In my opinion, Althorp House is a truly wonderful wedding venue bursting with history, grace and elegance.

      RUSHTON HALL

Rushton Hall is a Grand I listed country house hotel in Kettering, Northamptonshire with over 25 acres of immaculate grounds. An award-winning privately owned hotel, the only 3-rosette accolade making Rushton Hall the finest luxury hotel in Northamptonshire. Rushton Hall is home to one of the very best spas The Stableyard Spa, which I personally love to visit on a regular basis! Recently Rushton Hall built a truly magnificent Orangery which is bursting with light and the most beautiful gold chandelier.

Rushton Hall a truly exclusive wedding venue that can be yours for the whole wedding duration. Rushton Hall offers exclusive private hire of the hotel including 30-bedrooms for your wedding guests.

      FAWSLEY HALL HOTEL & SPA

Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa is a grand Tudor house located in Fawsley near Daventry, Northamptonshire. Part of the Hand-Picked hotels this exclusive wedding venue is one of the most romantic houses in the UK. Fawsley Hall is rich in history, originally a home built for entertaining by Elizabeth I and other monarchs over the years. This classically grand hotel and spa is your perfect choice for hosting a long romantic wedding weekend, with 60 bedrooms on-site. Fawsley Hall can cater for small and intimate weddings to up to 150 seated for dinner.

The views at Fawsley Hall are simply stunning and can be seen for miles and miles. Fawsley Hall is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and couples can opt to host an outdoor wedding ceremony overlooking the panoramic parkland. There is also a very pretty Church, The Church of St Mary The Virgin which is perched on the estate surrounded by the Canal.

      KELMARSH HALL & GARDENS

Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens situated on the very outskirts of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. With award-winning quintessential gardens, formal terrace and stunning orangery this Northamptonshire wedding venue is a hidden gem! Kelmarsh Hall is licensed for Civil Ceremonies, for more intimate ceremonies your wedding can be hosted in The Orangery, or for larger weddings a luxury marquee on the South Lawn.

The rooms at Kelmarsh Hall are elegant, fine and timeless, with a mixture of 1920s design and shabby chic. A beautiful Grade I listed country house in Northamptonshire countryside with stunning views. Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens is only a few miles down the road from Northamptonshire Wedding Planners The Events Designers.

      CASTLE ASHBY

Castle Ashby House is a Grade I country house, the ancestral home of the 7th Marquees of Northampton. Castle Ashby offers extensive gardens with different styles including the romantic Italian Gardens, Orangery and impressive Arboretum. Castle Ashby is a classic stately country garden located in the heart of Northamptonshire and offers an exclusive wedding experience.

Wedding ceremonies can be held in the East Wing, Stables or in the nearby St. Magdalene Church situated on the grounds of Castle Ashby House. The grounds make a perfect backdrop for your wedding photography! With the Orangery, Italian inspired gardens, greenhouse, lake and stone bridges the photography locations are endless.

The Falcon, the original Coaching Inn built-in 1594, offers an exclusive Walled Garden available for marquee, tent and other tipi weddings. Wedding guests can extend their stay and enjoy a retreat in the thoughtfully restored boutique hotel in the rural countryside of Northamptonshire. A luxury idyllic place to host your countryside inspired wedding in the heart of England.

      BOUGHTON HOUSE

Boughton House is a beautiful country house close to Kettering, Northamptonshire. The Northamptonshire former home to the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, Boughton House is steeped in history and elegance. Deemed as one of the finest stately homes in England, Boughton House is one of the most historic and unique wedding venues in Northamptonshire.

Couples can marry in The Great Hall, as seen in the award-winning (Oscar, may I add), film Les Miserables. Or couples can opt to marry outdoors in the colonnade. Boughton Hall is one of the only stately homes licensed to conduct civil ceremonies outdoors. This glorious outdoor setting is perfect for couples looking to host a Spring or Summer wedding. Boughton Hall offers marquee and tent weddings in the Great Court, located next to the impressive Grand Etang. As a Northamptonshire Wedding Planner, I cannot wait to work at Boughton House for an upcoming marquee wedding.

      COURTEENHALL ESTATE

And last but most certainly not least… Courteenhall Estate, the hidden wedding gem in Northamptonshire. Located in South Northamptonshire between Northampton and Towcester, Courteenhall Estate offers exclusive use of over 100 acres of beautiful greenery. Intimate wedding celebrations and private parties can be held in the beautiful hall, originally built in the late 18th century. For larger parties, Courteenhall Estate offers exclusive use of the grounds to host a marquee or tent wedding. Whilst Courteenhall Estate is not registered for civil wedding ceremonies, the onsite church can host religious ceremonies. Many couples simply marry elsewhere and host a wedding blessing on the grounds of Courteenhall Estate.

I’ve been lucky enough to provide wedding planning services across Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties. The Events Designers specialise in Marquee Wedding Planning and work with couples hosting their marquee and tent wedding at home or on exclusive marquee grounds.
